Growing together in data governance: introducing the new Task Assignment Module

22 May 2025 Jan-Douwe Ekhart

Many financial institutions already apply the four-eyes principle, meaning that changes to market data are only made after a second person has reviewed them. It is a well-established quality control method that helps prevent unnoticed errors from being implemented.

However, this way of working often raises a new question: who ensures that the right person takes action at the right time? In other words, how do you make sure signals are not missed and tasks do not go unassigned?

This is exactly where BIQH’s new Task Assignment Module comes into play. It is designed for organisations that already have a solid market data structure in place and are ready to take the next step.

A natural next step

The new Task Assignment Module supports the next stage in your market data operations. Not because current practices are failing, but because it is time for greater clarity, more structured collaboration, and improved follow-up of market data issues.

The principle is straightforward: when issues are identified at market data feed, market data record, or market data field level, you can immediately create a task and assign it to:

  • A colleague within your own team
  • A BIQH specialist (if you use Managed Services)
  • Or a combination of both – you choose the party, and within that party, assign the appropriate person

Tasks are prioritised and monitored in a Jira environment that is directly integrated with the BIQH platform. This means you can maintain full visibility and control without switching between systems.

From implicit to explicit

In many teams, the process of resolving issues is still informal, something like “Can you take a look at this?”. While that works in small setups, it becomes less manageable as teams grow, when responsibilities are shared with BIQH, or when teams operate across the globe in a follow‑the‑sun model where not everyone is available at the same time.

Task Assignment makes the process explicit:

  • It becomes clear what needs to be done
  • You know who is responsible
  • And you can track progress, without extra mails or spreadsheets

The BIQH Market Data Platform also provides a quick summary of open tasks per user, offering instant insights into issue resolution status.

BIQH as your growth partner

Introducing Task Assignment is not the beginning, but the continuation of your professionalisation journey. It marks the next chapter in market data operations, with more structure, smarter collaboration, and scalable support.

In practice, teams often handle dozens of market data corrections each day. The Task Assignment Module brings clarity and control to this workload, helping them stay ahead.

Whether you are fully self-managed or working with BIQH Managed Services, you remain in control, with a partner ready to support your next step.

The Task Assignment Module is available as a separate feature. Interested? Reach out to your account manager for a first demo or more information.

It is a new way of working, an opportunity to improve how you operate by taking the next step in market data governance.
